Renault Group is expanding its electric vehicle motor assembly line and white body production facilities. In order to enhance production flexibility, ABB completed a new model introduction project for Renault this summer, helping it transition towards sustainable transportation.
As a long-term partner, ABB helps Renault achieve automation of its production network in multiple key markets through advanced robotics technology. In the past 24 months, ABB has delivered most of the products for a large industrial robot order of 160 units, although the financial details of the order have not yet been disclosed.
ABB's automation solution will significantly enhance Renault's electric motor assembly line capacity at its Cl é on and Douai factories in France. Especially at the Douai factory, ABB's technology will support the production of the new generation of electric vehicles.
This summer, ABB's white body team went to Renault's Duier factory to provide high-quality new vehicle integration solutions, including flooring, side panels, and door covers. Faced with the challenges of high difficulty and fast pace of transformation, ABB, with its rich experience and diligent spirit, successfully upgraded its original production line, ensured the normal production of mass-produced models, and achieved the flexible introduction of the third model and its variants, helping Renault flexibly respond to market changes and gaining high recognition.
